Chicago Public Schools has always been a subject of conversation when it comes to the city of Chicago and its practices. Throughout the years, CPS (Chicago Public Schools) has been extremely underfunded in black and brown communities. Teachers have been fighting for smaller classrooms and bigger budgets for education for the last few years and with covid effecting the way students learn this year they are faced with newer issues when it comes to at home learning.
JoeFreshGoods is becoming a source of light for the Chicago Public School students and is doing it in a way that only Joe can. It's no surprise that back in 2018 Joe signed a deal with adidas that didn't see the light of day. Two years later, Joe is releasing said collection with a bigger goal in mind. Joe will be using all the funds from this collection to raise money for CPS students this Friday.
According to JoeFreshGoods Instagram the fabric for the long sleeve tee was borrowed from Kanye's Yeezy line with the inspiration for the script on the back from Pelle Pelle jackets which is a Chicago Westside staple (I can merch this y'all). The sneaker which looks like the adidas Nite Jogger features Joe's signature red, yellow, and blue stripes on the side with a suede and nubuck leather upper with a touch of βsaltβ as well. If you're from Chicago then you probably have several pairs of shoes that look like this during the colder months. Unfortunately, the sneaker is never coming out so don't ask.
We'll keep you updated as Joe shares more pieces from the collection and of course the official release on Friday.
